This is a continuation of my last bit of commentary.

It's a question of whether this framework comes about by itsself, or whether we choose to adopt it. I think it would be best to have a bit of both. Right now, what we're doing seems random and opportunistic - someone gets an idea, people go 'Oh, hey, cool' and vote for it. Which is both fine and fun. But most of our goals are gonna need long term approaches that extend outside of 'take chances to level up skill where we can and hope for the best' and 'shout SCIENCE!! alot'; we need to work toward most of them. Ideas for long-term projects have already been mooted, from the manner in which we actually do the taking-over-the-world bit to more specific inventions/goals that are a little over the horizon of our immediate future. I won't go into detail on the latter, but for now I will propose some things that we could do to get stage 1 on the road to completion; these ideas will need a little breaking down into their actual implementation (i.e, what specific parts will be needed etc) but hopefully they won't be so abstract as to make their fulfilment difficult to imagine/generally impossible.

Format:

- Goal

> Idea
<Commentary>
>> Detail
>> Detail
>>> Sub detail
>>>> Sub-sub detail (and so on, add arrows if/when needeD)
>> Detail

> Idea (if I more than 1 idea)

Our ultimate goals for Stage 1 - Getting on our feet

- To secure a steady source of income

> Code and release something - an application, perhaps - and release it on the internet to be downloaded/used at a price

< If we get the systems in place, and our product is succseful enough, then this could be a completely automated source of income: one the product is released, little maintenance should be required. Also, we don't have to worry about acquiring spare part etc >

>> Internet connection needed
>>> Purchase? Line rental?
>>> 'Tap into' phone line?
>>>> If so, what would be needed? Wires, modems?

>> Decent level of programming knowledge needed
>>> Specialisation of knowledge will depend on specifics of program/distribution systems

>> What exactly will the product be?
>>> Ideas needed - something that can make money is the primary objective
>>>> Think gaps in the market etc

>> Other systems besides actual program needed
>>> I'm thinking servers to host, but there might be more besides?
>>> Advertising?
>>>> May use ingenious new spam/virus to spread word and evade inboxes the world o'er
>>>>> If we do that, can we sell our method onto other interested parties?

- To acquire a steady source of water

> (More info needed before idea can be mooted)

< Well, duh >

>> What is our general situation? Do we have access to a tap/other communal water source?
>>> Do we have to pay for this?
>>> ASK PANDAR D:

>> Can we use BIOLOGY or CHEMISTRY to 'make our own' water?
>>> What would the specifics of this be?

- To acquire a steady source of food

> Cultivate and grow a nutritious super-mould that will cater to our nutrient needs

< In the long-term, self sufficiency with food is pretty much needed. Using mould - we can grow large quantities of it in a small space, probably without cumbersome materials (hopefully it'll grow itsself if we give it a dark, damp space); it's small enough for us to carry some on our person at all times; and it caters to our BIOLOGY skills >

>> Presumably, we'll need rather high biology skills to accomplish this
>>> Researching the mould will, hopefully, level us up a bit in this respect

>> We need to do some research
>>> Are there other moulds out there that contain nutrients? Can we combine these? Or is it easier to find a way to fortify an existing, easy-to-grow mould with nutrients?
>>>> How would we do any of these?
>>> How will we conduct our research in the first place?
>>>> Internet?
>>>> Library?
>>>> Random/not so random experiments?

Hmm, glad someone is think things through before thet post an idea, a little reasoning and, "FOR SCIENCE!!" Though generally that is all that is needed, we do need goals, and for them to be always visible, and on topic of whatever we are currently doing at the time, though I beleive we can always go to the local park for some water (Tedious, and Time Consuming) and/or a hobo-home for food... we will get bare essentials for free, but it will be costly in time, and maybe our Insane-o-meter, which is trademarked by Nintendo, will become more agitated...

You can produce water by mixing acids and bases, but you're probably better off just using a water fountain... as nasty as LA's water is. I recommend getting some sort of purifier.

Another level or 2 of bio would probably let you find a way to make a biological condensation-causing agent/squishything.

Also, please redo the votes, none of that All Of The Whatever crap that gets shuffled around by the voting system.

Using a water fountain in a park is not Pride-harming. Eating at a homeless shelter... is.

So my crundles are staying intact unless they're newly spawned... until they are exposed to anything that isn't at room temperature.  This mostly seems to mean blood, specifically, their own.  Then they go poof very quickly.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this fort any more. Migrants arrive, they die for some reason, the fort is flooded for another reason, then dwarves go mad, more dwarves die and I'm just laughing in my distress.
