Hmm I think I ended up playing my rogue as a halfling, worshiping the magic god, and just using the fireball spell the whole time. Definitely not how you're supposed to do it, but I got annoyed with dying over and over from the lack of health.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

The magi god takes a bit of RNG favor to use, honestly.
Anyway, I have absolutly no clue on how to kill Medusa, any tips you guys can offer?

The magi god takes a bit of RNG favor to use, honestly.
Anyway, I have absolutly no clue on how to kill Medusa, any tips you guys can offer?
Medusa is not too hard to beat... She has less HP than most other bosses. She can't petrify you if
1)You have 100% HP
2)You are immune to Death Gaze
So, to beat her, you can either buy Stone Sigil (45 gp), or worship Binlor (he grants immunity), or attack her only with full HP (easy to do as a priest with a few healing potions)

By now I have completed Normal, Snake pit and Factory with 12 core classes. My favorite classes are Warlord, Assassin and Sorcerer (although now I like them all, except bonus classes. I haven't tried them yet - decided to leave them for last).

Yeah, it was a goblin.

I've failed at all my plays except for a Dorf Priest, who lucked out by getting Frank the Zombie.

I had a Human Rogue do pretty alright until I kinda forgot I was under that Dwarf God, whereupon I converted his sigil and he burnt all my healing potions.  I'd like explored everywhere that could be explored by then, so I had no healing outside of my mana potions.  I really liked the +30% attack sigil.  Also I figured out something with LIMMISI I guess.  I'm not sure what use it's supposed to be - exploring more regens monsters too, doesn't it?

monsters regen an amount of hitpoints equal to their level for each square explored.

Any tips on trying to get through the thief/rogue/assassin line of classes?

Playing a thief, I found halflings/gnomes pretty effective since potions heal both HP and MP. Halfing Thief was my first win actually.

Elven Wizard. Began worshipping Mystera Annur at level 1. I'm currently level 7, my fireball spell deals 28 damage per hit, and I have 53 mana.

Stuff keeps on dying. Fast.

Heh) Of course it is fun! Until you realize that the dungeon boss is Goat (60% resist) or Golem (75%).

Probably by focusing on physical attack. With a human, for example. Will also take some luck with glyphs and deities, and shop items.

There are a few ways to complete Factory with wizard.
The most entertaining way to do it is to find a fireball glyph before killing anyone, then, if you're lucky, find pactmaker shrine. Then, find 7...9 level animated armor and keep hitting it with your weak 4 damage fireball. When you finally kill it (which is not too hard), you will get 4 or 5 levels at once. The rest should be easy.

Yes a strong advantage of getting enough mana in Factory  is that you can assault those level 9 animated armor with the fireball glyph to slowly remove their various death protections (as whatever level they have, the monster has only 1 hit point, so you can regenerate while they will stay at 1 hp, they do not regenerate their death protections).

Meaning you can level up a lot quicker that way.
Managed to complete Factory yesterday with a sorcerer .

So, I just figured out that Elf Monks work really well, provide you can get the fireball and worship Mystera from level 1. Managed to clear the snake pit that way. Had 11 shots of firball by the level 10, nuked Medusa at level 7. :D

Armored wizard FTW!!
