... umm... I'm not sure what to tell you other than to try downloading it again?

I went and downloaded the .rar and extracted it, and there was the file in the "art" folder

redownloaded, turns out the first one got corrupted

everything seems to be working so far. Though I have problems telling the different Playable creatures apart, I can tell from the wounds screen that most of them are there in almost every party. no gmae crashing glitches so far.

One thing I would recommend is a cleaner graphics. as is, it's rather noisy.

Hmm... well, I tried, but it's pretty hard only having 16 pixels to work with.

You might want to try just going back to not using a tileset if you want... It's kind of weird playing with an "N" with a "~" over it representing your minotaurs, but it is, at least, clear to those who aren't used to tilesets or graphics...

Or maybe I should just spring for the full-blown "make a new graphics pack" option...

Long posts, didn't read it all, will some other time, was mostly details and wise cracks about clicking the dwarf spoiler anyway...

Sounds VERY interesting! I shall keep an eye out for it!

OK, I'm working on getting the other civs into this... question I have is, do you guys want to play with a graphics set, which would probably be a bit more colorful, and hopefully make units stand out a little better, or do you guys just love your ASCII?

Also, I really have to get around to drawing my character sketches...

edit: also, what other types of mods would you want rolled up into this one, or do you play with in conjunction with this?  I'm going to branch out into adding in the Lacquerware mod I wanted into this once I get races in.

I'm glad to see the playable version is released! I will try it this night.
I play with graphics, mostly because I can.

I would prefer full-on graphics sets to ASCII. as for other mods, I really don't care.

I also prefer Graphics packs myself to ASCII, but I'm wondering if it would even be possible to have different graphics for the different Castes of a species. Would you have to have a different profession sprites for each of the different castes?

I prefer me some ASCII.  Mostly because it feels like it works better with the current graphics.

This mod is going to be the best mod ever. YOU MUST FINISH IT

Also, I found a bug either with this mod or with 31.03- When the merchants arrived at my fort in the late fall, their macelamia guard started going on an unstoppable [BUILDINGDESTROYER] rampage. Not harming anyone, just knocking down workshops, doors, and beds... from three tiles away.
