They forget... to your face? I read this as one of two things:

1. You do not look much like a girl. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

2. Your high school friends are a. retarded, b. hard of sight, or c. weird.

I have hair down to my knees and wear long skirts/am tiny, but I've been mistaken for a guy from behind before >_>

I'm not entirely sure what it is.  The general guess is that it's some combination of the following:

1. I don't act like girls are "supposed to" (i.e., atypical interests/behavior/speech pattern/whatever)
2. The group I spent time with was male (except for me) for all four years straight, so the pronouns just kind of blurred over.  It was the Magic club, you can't expect anything else.
3. I am entirely too aggressive, and they assumed that anyone who spent that much time beating people in the shins, swearing about tests, and snarling in Japanese got her girl-license taken away.

I have had people try to knee me before.  It was pretty funny.


On unrelated notes, they also can't figure out my age... I apparently look about 14, but I've been mistaken for a graduate student/professor.  It's confusing.
