I've played Aurora quite a bit and I have no c:\logs file...?
It's whatever drive you installed Aurora on.

I have my Aurora folder in E:\Aurora and yet it dumped Aurora logs into E:\Logs.

Aurora programming for you. Amazing and yet sigh.

When I tried Aurora on a ramdrive I just copied my existing directory over to the ramdrive and started a new game. Perhaps I should of extracted the zip file straight onto the ram drive.

Anyway I didn't notice any speed improvements in that one game year, so if anyone gets it working then the only reason to do it would be to prolong the life of their diskdrives.

That blueish one in the bottom left group, is that a shielded vessel? A cloaked one?

Again, these are awesome! You've totally inspired me to draw all my own ships. . . however I lack the awesome paint.net skills you have and resort to ink and colored pencils.

What makes the Sisyphus class 'experimental'?

Also, I realize now what your style reminded me of - Iji. A fairly unknown indie game from the early days of the indie craze. Probably just because of the aliasing. That, and the imperial (or federation?) warships from FTL.

I've also considered drawing out my ships, though the ideal was to do it top-down, and based on weight as well.  Every ton of weight would be represented by a number of pixels, so the actual size of the ship would show.  Armor would be the trickiest part, as it would cover the perimeter.

After a whole week of not opening Aurora I've jumped back in and figured out how to utilize SM. I am now capable of experimentation! Huzzah!

My original ships, IE the ones I did on request, were more or less to scale in tonnage, too.

oh nice, Steve's adding commercial damage control and hangers. So now it's possible to make a deep space military base to deploy to empty systems that can also hold fighters and/or FACs. Hell, you can make a fleet storage base if you want.

Only restriction though is that military ships in civilian hangers still have normal maintenance requirements

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

I heard from someone that Steve is going to make civilian shipping lines able to be toggled off. Is this true? If so, will it be in the next update?

Yes and yes.  It will be a new option in the game window in 7.2.

Phew! Wasn't that one of the big factors when it came to long turns? I remember having 4 shipping lines in my main game (the one I accidentally deleted :P ) with two of them having over 20 ships. The 3rd had about 15 with the 4th having about 8. In that save, my five day turns were taking about 2 minutes to complete. It was almost unplayable. I'm kind of glad that I accidentally deleted the save because it forced me to restart with a new save and man did it feel good to be able to do 30 day turns in less than a few seconds.
