Your ASM seem awfully slow and big for that drive level too. Or I'm thinking of the next drive level.

By the way, I hope you guys saw that there are going to be NPR carriers in the next patch :)

Ahh just great, in my game as The Union of Socialist States (communism) and the frigging private shipping line won't build any colony ships. So far 30 ships and only freighters and spaceliners -.-. Makes it a bit slow to build up colonies

What do you expect? It's COMMUNISM lol. Why are you relying on filthy capitalist pigs to transport the glorious proletariat to their new utopian gulags Workers' Paradises?

Hah :D Yeah, initiated crash program called CargoToColony No. 1 and refitted 8 state owned freighters to colony ships and everything is running good now.
You should see my mines I have put at every JG, 15 little missiles each with 9WH comes from one 50 Size mine and I have 40 of them at every point.

And this game I won't be using carriers, last game I had couple carriers with 120 fighters each (fighters had 5 S4 box launchers) so I had pretty massive alpha strike and it was boring (and horrible to micromanage those fighters). Every ship will have both ASM and AMM too this time

Protip: If you use the same basic "hull" for freighters and colony ships (and just swap out the cryo holds for cargo holds), and then tool your shipyard for the colony ship, you should be able to build both designs from the same yard. Not sure why it doesn't work in the other direction, the refit cost differential must be just a slight bit too high.

Yeah, I know. Refit cost was like 80% or so though Oo just from swapping cargo hold to cryo thingies

Yep, cargo holds are cheap, as they're pretty much empty space; colony ships are expensive, because instead of empty space, you need nifty gadgets to keep people in cryo.

I tend to make my civilian ships with rather thick armor and settled in a specific tonnage series with same armor thickness among each. Having a larger proportion of armor percentage, on top of better anti missile protection (when coupled with standard issue CIWS), will also make retooling less necessary. Quite useful.

If Steve ever fixed all of the problems with this game I don't think I'd ever have a life again. Thank god for the bugs that annoy me so much I can't stand playing any more ever (ever == ~1 month)

Wait until Paradox buys out the rights to the game and gives it a 3D interface... Forgot not having a life, you won't even have a soul left.

Thanks, but I'd rather play Aurora than Paradox-Style Grand Strategy IN SPACE!. Don't get me wrong, Paradox make great games, but once you've played one of them you've basically played them all. The closest to a breakaway from their formula is probably CKII just because of the focus on the lineage system (though the shorter time frame of the HoI games is also slightly different).
