Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

5.30's been out for more than a month.

Yes it has.  Unfortunately, it doesn't work right for a lot of people.  Steve is hoping to release 5.4 this weekend, though, so that should fix the issues.

Well, the quote was indeed about 5.3, so that might be the source of your confusion.  I was unable to get 5.3 to work, so I'm eagerly awaiting 5.4 this weekend.

While since I've played as well, my current version is 5.14 or something.

But then, life was also easier when I was running around here pretending to be a man, so I guess I should just "man up" and get back to work.

The current one or 5.4, I can't check 5.3 due to it not working on my machine, but it's definitely due for 5.4.

Works fine for me on Vista. After searching both this thread and the official forums, it seems like a 52 error is completely new. I'd post on the official forums if you need help.

So, with the encouragement of you guys, I decided to keep my game going. It's taken a number of years, but I rebuilt my fleet (bigger and stronger), and sent it through to Bernards Star.

To my surprise, the wormhole had closed (I actually still have a tiny colony in the system, so I expected I'd get a message if/when that happened.) However, it had dropped off one last fleet before returning to the void, so I've spent (literally, over the course of several days, alternating between the game window and doing other stuff) about 8 hours real time fighting their fleet.

I think I'm finally done (nothing else on the active or passive scanners, anyway). With the end of hostilities, I decided to count up all the wrecks in the system:
Total bodycount:
Ships lost: Terran Federation: 109 (82 fighters, 21 warships, 5 commercial ships)
Wormhole Aliens: 19 (18 warships, 1 commercial ship)
Tonnage lost: Terran Federation: 516,450 (41,000 fighters, 196,000 warships, 279,450 commercial)
Wormhole Aliens: 559,400 (434400 Warships, 125,000 commercial)

Needless to say, my Vulture class ships (salvagers) are descending on the system as we speak. They've got ~1,075 days worth of salvaging to do.

I have never played a game before where I seriously wondered if I had a glitch or not.

In fact I am not even sure if I am playing or not... What in the world is going on!?!

Dang it Aurora!!! Why can't people like complex games with intuitive interfaces? Why must complexity and playability be mortal enemies?

Well it is official I can't get Aurora working because I am using a Vista... no wait I THINK I may have got it working... Copy and paste POWER!

Also I gotta love the game... "I shall now create a colony of 0 people!"

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.
