Holy shit. Nothing can hit that....

That's almost 100x the speed of light.

I like that it can only operate for 11 hours at full power, but in that time goes 8.7 billion kilometers.

Just for the heck of it, I opened my 'space master' save, it has all the technology in the game, this is the fastest a fighter can go (without weapons).

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

yuppers, thats 1/2 faster.  :) (it also has hyperdrive ;D)

Nope, light goes 299,792,458 m/s, or 299,792.458 km/s. that means that his is near light speed, while mine is slightly over the speed of light, sorry. :P

Still, Tarran, that ship has no weapons or sensors, which would slow it down. It's a very fast target. While you can get away without the sensors (we can assume that it's launched from a mothership or planet with sensors) it needs at least some light weapons. For something that small, either missiles, microwave, or meson would be ideal - very lightweight weapons that can still make a battlecruiser shudder.

Hell even gauss would probably work well.  Even when tiny.  It's not like anything is ever going to be able to hit the damn thing, it will just peashooter anything to death.

Kinda like that youtube horribly slow murderer with a spoon vid.  Except it's a really really fast spaceship with a full auto BB gun.

ships moving faster than light just from using (post-N thrust) engines, should be reported as bug.
I mean: a thing moving at lightspeed should become photonic matter. Something faster...who knows?
I accept that newtonian rules are moot, but are Einsteinian paradigms invalid now as well? Maybe TNT also implies a gravitonic damping effect, but still.

I'd ditch the magazine, launchers and missiles and put a meson cannon on it. I'm not sure about its potential effect on weight and therefore speed, but with that kind of agility, equipping the spacecraft with very finite ordnance seems like a waste.

And by the way, what's required to be able to research box launchers?

Do I just have to keep researching smaller size/longer reload launcher techs?
