Ahh, well unfortunately things like that are common in sufficiently complex games, its the cost of having deeper options.

Funnily enough, that was what I hated about EVE, yet here I am... I guess quality shows.

The problem with EVE is less about the windows, and more about the constant grinding, imo.  I still love the game, but mission running, which is generally all I can do atm, is so god damn boring.. as is mining.  Next time I get back into the game I'm going to look into joining a 0-sec corp and do some pvp.

I'll be honest: I hooked up with some people and PVPed for a while before I stopped playing but after I got enough ISP to buy one of the smaller classes of combat ship (it has been ages). I never got very far to begin with, but any game that can make blowing the shit out of other people with giant starships that boring and grindy is impressive.

Yes, because twitch combat works SO WELL in an MMO.

Its no coincidence that neither of those are good. (my opinion only)

Also Miner Wars isn't an MMO. Battlestar Galactica is... some kind of silly browser-based thing free play game.

I keep hoping they'll eventually make a quality hybrid of the two.  I agree that 'twitch based' combat is not fun (to me at least), heck WoW is bad enough with people leaping all over the place during combat like fools..

However, I do agree that having it be nothing but "roll the dice until one of you dies" is not ideal either.  I would prefer that my actions and decisions have more to do with it.

I would think a space combat simulator would be ideal to merge the two honestly, how you maneuver your ship can give you a strategic advantage beyond just 'rolling the dice' but the attacks themselves can be related to calculations beyond just "who's ISP is slower loses".

But I've never played EVE so I cannot comment specifically.

This is probably going to be tantamount to heresy to someone, but what EVE PvP really reminded me of was Runescape, in that once combat is joined, everyone sits around hitting each other, occasionally activating abilities, and every so often shifting position when someone dies or a more important target shows up, but still doing basically the same "sit here and hit each other until one side dies or runs away" style of PvP.
