Yeah, wasn't sure how to just represent blood, so went with bloody wall since they get coated the best.

There are many ways to represent blood, you did the blood wall one, there is blood smearings, puddle of blood and finally the pool of blood.

The smearing is dark red, and s the same tile as the ground it is on ( so a blood smeared road it'd still be a dark red + ) , the puddle of blood is a dark red ~ , and the pool of blood is a dark red ≈ .

Bloody engravings are highlighted dark red ( or red ) , natural and smoothed walls are highlighted also, so are built walls, but non-smooth naturals walls with blood are red/dark red.

I'm not sure I'd call Armok an opiate.  It's not that kind of religion, after all.

Since dwarves already eat and drink for free, I didn't think those are on quite the same level.

As for 'safety,' I'm not sure they'd know what to do with it if they had it.  The Comité de Salut Public probably wouldn't work out quite the same way.  Not that it couldn't happen or it'd be better, just different.
