sorry i did not start yesterday but work needed me to do a double and today i need to go see a doctor about my foot (dropped a knife on it  ) so tomorrow will see the start of the game.

elves in this game are closer to the elves more commonly seen in J.R.R. Tolkien's world then in DF but the dwarfs ARE from DF world

As far as i can see there are no conflicts with anyones characters although it should be fun to figure out how they are going to interact with the world... but hey... free entertainment

Nice to see we're mixing wood-loving, holier-than-thou elves with magma-loving, awesomeer-than-thou dwarves. Can I occasionally slip into the DF elf mindset? It's not fun to act like Tolkien's elves... all the time.

It all started as a joke. A few gods had gotten together and where more then a bit tipsy when Armok shouted, "Hey, why don't we just grab a few mortals, throw them into the Gateroom, and see what they do?"

Of course, being quite drunk, the other gods thought that this was a great idea! They would select ten beings, ten being the number of empty kegs laying about, and go from there.

They woke up in a strange place, with strange companions, and stranger yet, nothing but the clothes on their backs. Around them where great arches that glowed different colors but nothing appeared to be in them or behind them.

After a few moments a voice echoed through the room, "Greeting Mortals, I am Diakron, one of the gods responsible for you being here, and the one that will guide you through this adventure you sit out on. Many of you have no idea where you are, while others are more interested in where you are going. As for now you go nowhere but take this time to tinker, study, train, and rest."

As the sound died down the Room grew lighter; occasional piles of rubble scatter the floor, and in them are relics of past civilizations that had been destroyed. Flickers of light appear round the walls of the room, they seem to be the only source of illumination here.

after a few hours it seems you are on your own, what do you do?

Stick my head through the red arch, the color of strength and power.

"Uhh ... So ... Hi, I'm Frederick VI ... I guess this is better then trying to get a real job so I can afford room and board."

I search the rubble for some sort of book on healing (preferably magical).

I look aroudn the room, trying to figure out where I am, then search around.

"Noooooooo I was about to partake in a... Eh, forest frolic with other elves, fuuuuuuuO hey, so much stuff around here"

Dakk searches the rubble for useful stuff, while stumbling near the bright yellow arc.

"Aaaaah! Kill the light! Kill the light!"

I try to find myself a dark corner.

By the way, my character sees no need for something as silly as clothes.
Oh, wait, am I tangible?

Panic at being physically vulnerable, and go intangible.

"What the hell is this place?"
Searches the rubble for something that could answer my question.

"Hey guys, I'm Sysicer. Don't laugh, or I'll pour magma you. Don't think I'm kidding."
Examine the relics, and if any of them appear magical take them and study them.

The Gm was suddenly aware that he forgot to change the subtitle and promptly did so, he also pointed out that people cast shadows.
