The outside is either freezing, stuffy, and dead looking, or hot, full of bugs, and too bright. I guess the only thing good about it is that when you get yelled at outside, you aren't in a place where you're expected to be safe.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

It's alright.

'cept in Summer. Technically Winter too, but that's much easier to deal with than Summer.

Unfortunately I live in Wisconsin, where the Spring and Autumn last a week.

That's just because you live south of Mordor.

I wonder what the unemployment rate in Mordor is like. If it's better than here I might have to move there so I can afford food.

I don't think that the outside is evil, I just prefer to stay indoors.

I'm lonely all the time, but every time I go out and there are people my age it ends poorly because the people my age happen to be terrible.

Also it was my great-aunt's 97th birthday today. So I had to spend time with a few of my least favourite family members.

Everyone is at least a bit terrible, irrespective of age or experience. All we can do is keep trying to be mostly good, progressively work to become less terrible, and encourage those around us to do the same for themselves however they can. There's ways to engage with people who you don't agree with, or even who don't treat you well, where you'll still get something out of the time spent. If you understand them well enough to speak in a way they'd understand, you can often make things better between you too. It's rare to find a truly lost cause.

You can always look elsewhere, but you're unlikely to find people who are perfect anywhere you look. When you find yourself in places where some good exists, it's often a good idea to cultivate happiness at your feet.

The trick is to find people who are terrible in a way you can put up with, and not-terrible in a way that inspires you to be better.

Meanwhile, I have one postponed project that's probably due, one project I only found out about today, and an entire concept's worth of makeup work for my calculus class after this robotics trip...

I don't know how I'm going to get everything done.
