The likelihood and nature of player 3+ joining the battle?

... not that that really makes that much of a difference, generally, but it's an answer.

*she's being sarcastic
Sorry. I have no idea why I keep forgetting that.

Even if you're trying to have sex with someone, does knowing their sexuality really help? If a woman is into a guy, she's into him. What's it change if it's because she's straight, or she's bi, or she's a lesbian who makes a rare exception for men? What does the ratio of men/women she's attracted to change about this specific situation?
This is basically the point I'm trying to make. Self-identification notwithstanding, there's no need for more boxes than "into guys", "into gals", or whatever. And our current labels or straight/gay/bi summarise this quite nicely.

Of course, if people really are so narcissistic as to need to know the precise percentile of gay-straightness they fall into, then I suppose we could use that system as well.

It changes which people you should observe while in her presence to have any reasonable chance to begin to understand what she is actually attracted to(which physical, personality, and intellectual traits and in what combinations).
You know, whether this specific situation (bow chika) is reproducible and how worth while it is to pursue that goal. The difference between a couple weeks and a couple years.

Personally I don't think a more graduated scale is worth pursuing. The time investment in making it as accurate as OW's boxes is too large to justify the returns.

Are we talking about the situation where she's not into you and you're trying to calculate how long it would take to wear her down? Because I would rather that situation just not happen.

No, we agree on that. It is more gauging "compatibility" (long term vs short term).

Sounds more like the situation of observing somebody and trying to figure out if you fall in the right category to stand a chance at all.

Labels are complicated.  People are obviously more than a collection of categories, particularly broad ones.  But they're also useful, and sometimes it feels good to belong.  It's all very situational.

(also, gender can be set in user profile fyi)

But then we wouldn't have the male:female ratio thing on the stats page. Because that statistic is singularly the most important thing on these forums.

Doesn't help that an attracted to men- attracted to women scale doesn't include the pan-a-demi/sexuals out there.
Clearly it needs to have a Y axis.

The situation where she's not into you and you're trying to calculate how long it would take to wear her down?

As opposed to the situation where she is sort of into you, but she wants you to make a very game effort in order to validate the time she might spend with you.
Sounds horrible, but people love games.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

It's hugely distorted by bots, anyway.

I guess it does make me sad, so it's kind of fitting.

Careful with those. The guys who put their religion as 'Jedi' on the census forms probably thought it was a cool joke too.

I have a bus ride followed by a long, cold, miserable walk ahead of me.
