Depends on the province, I think. It never got to the point where I had to contact them, so I'm not entirely sure, though.

He tried to make ear piercings for me with the knife, not kill me or anything... That still counts as an attack though right?

!!!

...what does Canada have in the way of child protective services?  :-\
^
I think you should consider this.
*hugs*

I strongly advise you to do that.

I slept so badly this morning that I punted Totoro some three feet off the foot of the bed :< ~Nightmares~
What, you sleep with a stuffed animal Totoro? That's adorable.~
I've got a stuffed white tiger I've slept with since...I think since I was 7? so for 12 years.

My dad just tried to "pierce my ears" with the knife.
I think your dad may be trying a bit too hard now. Heh. Heh. Joke. But seriously.

Well, you consented to it?

Also, that is definetly the best way to get your ears infected and/or mutilated.

Assuming your age is correct, Cptn Kaladin, you'd be valid for help from child protective services if you are living in: Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Manitoba, Alberta, British Columbia, or Yukon (per this page). (If you are living elsewhere then sadly CPS stops their involvement prior to your age :().

If you're in one of those places, I'd suggest looking into what would happen, what you need to do, etc. so that if you decide to get them involved you already know what to do (And from the things you've said here I'm personally seeing lots of the flags they are mentioning that are on their "signs you should contact us" lists). I'd definitely look into getting them involved, better to do it now if you feel threatened then to wait until something horrible goes (more) wrong.

And if you didn't consent to the ear piercings that's definitely a sign that you should get the CPS involved if possible.

If you're having to decide on whether it technically is or isn't an attack, it's an attack.

Seriously, that's going way too far.

I don't have stuffed animals in my house.

I have a ridiculous amount of pillows though.

Oh, I wish I still had stuffed animals. :'(

All of mine were given away because my mom hates clutter. Or stolen...
My old favourite was a lemur with Velcro hands named Zaboomafoo who would hug me when I slept, then my cousin stole him and I cried myself to sleep for months afterwards. :(

No! I ran away and hid in the storage cupboard above my bed...

I'm not sure if you've heard this before, but your family don't sound like particularly nice people.

I was about to post and say they kind of sound like psychopaths, but "not very nice" is probably a nicer way to put it.

Hope this shit gets better for you, man. I know my own emotional state improved around the time I was 18-19, but that doesn't fix the family issues.

Hey, remember that friend that's been "ignoring" me since the 13th? No, he's just been too lazy to message me for a little less than 2 weeks. You know, that makes me feel a hella lot better not.

You definitely have bigger problems, though. I hope things get better for you. That's about all I can do from down here.  :(

This right here. I highly suggest getting in contact with your appropriate CPS organization.
