We need a 'hilariously broken logic' thread.
I second that emotion
We have a troll logic thread somewhere, but I think it died.

I am now the proud owner of a blacklight. Unfortunately, it has to go because it's causing me to break out in hives and a nasty facial rash. It was sooooo pretty though...

So.
In karate today the sensei asked me (green belt) and two brown belts to do a kata.
We had forgotten it completely. :-[

We got punished with fist-pushups, but the punishment doesn't really matter. I have failed.
I don't deserve to karate anymore.
Nooooo. Keep at it if you would like to! Forgetfulness happens (or displacement of memory...it's still there but you can't recall it at the time).

Also 'his' group there are pretty-...  :-X
Learn from their attitude...
That's a very bad attitude.

That sucks.

But I must say:

That's not how failure works. You can still get better. "Deserve" has nothing to do with it.

Step 1: Practice your kata on your own, so that next time you're the one who can do it, while your sempai try to copy you and look like they know what they are doing.
Step 2: Do practical performance on your fellow students.

Better solution: Get gun, never engage someone closer than fifty feet. If they close the gap, pull out the grenade launcher you bought.

Even better solution: Get gun. Get kata. Get gun kata! (Avoid gym kata though)

Take it from a sort-of-sensei, demi-instructor, and wannabe-professeur: failing is just a way of learning. You won't forget next time, will you? Also, I'd be much more pissed at the brown belts than you. Those mooks are almost black belts! They should have mastered the first few kata to the point of doing them in their sleep! They should be rote.

I'm so tired :c 40-hour workweek + studying for GREs + applying for internships + applying for PhD programs + independent mathematical study = Very Sad Vector
Eeesh. Yeah, that's a rough place to be. Subject GREs or the general? I seem to recall you crushing the general at some point in the past but maybe my memory's off. Good luck.
Math subject GREs. The cat kept me up all fucking night meowing. I just want to go into a JRPG-induced coma.
Here's a good one to celebrate with once you've beaten the exam. I hope the cat is quieter tonight.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

While high in fiber, exams are typically low in flavor, and it is generally recommended only to eat copies.
