It's almost as if homophobes turn being gay explicitly into attention-seeking behavior [in their own mind] and then come up with half-reasoning to explain how they aren't homophobes, just against the 'ones who always shout it out'

Being gay isn't attention seeking behavior.

Seeking atention because you're gay is.

I'm not saying every gay person does it, far from it. I'm saying that the ones that do are as annoying as all get out. I simply do not care.

things that are inextricably linked to his sexuality
A large part of the reasoning behind non-religous homo'phobes' (''s due to personal awkwardness over etymology) - at least from those I've met - and even subconsciously when religion is involved, is that this appears to be the case from the outside. Since most of the annoying gays tend to also be the ones who are very outspoken. A large number change their attitudes if they somehow manage to get to know someone gay - sadly difficult, and growing more so as homosexuality becomes more open.

Well the new Slash album, whilst good, still sounds more like it's showing off 'ooh Slash + Kennedy' rather than actually focusing on making awesome music :/

The 'camp' personality annoys me. I'm not sure why it doesn, it just does.

Also, I discovered one of my friends seems to be homophobic, saying 'It's just wrong and unnatural' as the excuse. Thing is, he's the kind of person that ignores arguments that it isn't wrong, and when asked why it's wrong, says 'it just is'

A lot of people I know think this, my grandparents included.

There's open and then there's LOOK AT ME ACKNOWLEDGE ME. Having lived in the LGBT-friendly dorm for a year, I didn't meet anyone like that, though.

I'd say the shoving it in people's faces attitude probably wouldn't bother me if done in protest actual hardcore homophobes (which is to say shoving it specifically in their faces). It might not always be the most effective form of protest, but the intentions are more sympathetic that way.

My head is swimming, I nearly blacked out a few minutes ago, and I don't have enough energy to do anything about it. I really ought to be more careful.

On the plus side, I may actually be able to miss a day if I need to, so if I can't get out of bed in the morning I'm not entirely screwed.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Well, I won't say I'm NOT improving. I had mustered it in myself to visit the Y twice more. I just swam in the pool by myself and didn't talk to anyone. Left decently tired both times.

Nakedness in lockerrooms bothers me a bit, this is the first time I've really dealt with it.

As I struggle myself to sleep, I'm still caught in old memories that continue to haunt me. I've taken 3 sleeping pills now, and still don't feel drowsy. I'm going to lie down again.

Really, I think it's rather unusual not to be bothered by locker room nudity.

You mean you don't have individual changing rooms at your local swimming pool or whatever?

We always have individual changing rooms over here. I mean, I'm a bit of a nudist but fuck that noise.

I mean, I could change in the bathroom stall or in a private shower, but that just makes me feel like a pansy when everyone else is walking around naked like they were BORN that way or something.

It probably has something to do with the fact that they're all wrinkly old men too. Holy shit not even one person approaching my age I swear.

Wrinkly old men seem to have a predilection for going around naked. I always see at least one doing so when I go to a swimming area in a national park.

Well, I've never been to a gym, but every swimming pool I've ever been to had individual changing rooms. I for one would never use a gym/pool that doesn't have them.

Now that I think about it, I should find out if the uni gym has individual changing rooms before I get a subscription...
