This feels like the sort of day when one should be out doing stuff with friends, not sitting in front of the computer.
Bah. Time to go catch a bus and spend some money.

Oh, I'm well aware of the inversion, and of course, I'm pissed at BK for loophole-abuse-legal tax evasion.

I find it funny that the common logic is Higher taxes = higher revenue

But in practice, all this does is drive the taxes paying entities away.

Thanks, Obama

Eh, there's a point where higher taxes does equal less revenue by driving away tax paying companies. Most countries, and especially the US, are no where *NEAR* that limit though. Like, +30-40% taxes and maybe you'll get there. MAYBE. At least you'll be closer :v

And yet, more than 47 corporations in the US have inverted.
[source:http://democrats.waysandmeans.house.gov/press-release/new-crs-data-47-corporate-inversions-last-decade-2]

The USA, at the highest income level, already institutes a corporate tax of 35% with varying expenses or deductions based off of state and locale. This is literally the highest in the first world.

I'm slightly sad that someone has thought up burgerdonuts already, and that someone had thought up burgerdonuts.

Yes, clearly to make up the deficit we must raise taxes on the poor, who are obviously just holding out.

According to the FRB, there are $1.29 trillion in circulation. We're well beyond that point.

According to numerous "debt clocks", we're about $17.7 trillion in debt.

Puppy got a face full of porcupine. All around his ear and cheek. Poor little bastard's going to the vet in the morning if there's any swelling or evidence of any broken off, but we pulled out all of them we could see or feel and he no longer seems to be in intense pain when we touch him. More quills in deeper than the foal got, and he whined quite a bit more.
