Funny, I found Spanish to be an impenetrable language for me to learn.

Chinese and French were far easier for me, and both of my teachers said I'm amazing with accents.

...That's a cheese omelet with wine, right?

Mandarin, it was the only kind they had.

Led to some interesting conversations with the Chinese speakers I met online, as we both thought the other could understand each other...

Unfortunately, that was years ago and I remember hardly any of it.

Does the image sort of remain on the screen when you change it? That's screen ghosting, a monitor problem.

Yeah, I had hoped this was just the issue when I noticed it, but nope, the blurs move around with the things that they coming from, it's not a issue with the monitor. (In fact, the only thing that doesn't get a blur is the message from the monitor when I turn off the computer that says the monitor is going to sleep.)

Sad/Self-anger: Can no longer do 50 pushups. Topped out at 36.

I remember the times I couldn't do 50 one finger pushups with weights on my back like it was yesterday.

Pfft. I have noodle arms, but I don't let that stop me!
Push-ups are the one exercise I actually do a decent amount of. Not 50 at a time, mind you...

Please don't use my arms as clubs. They don't work that way.

Ha! I have a noodle spine. Seriously, can't keep my back straight. So no pushups for me either.

Also, protip: if you've filled a box with several thousand trading cards, several textbooks, and a bunch of rocks, your foot is a poor place to rest it. Owowowowow

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I'm home. Finally. Today was a long day.

I had to stay late because I was the only one left at work who knew how to properly lock the building.

In staying behind a few hours, I have obtained all my standard hours for this week. However, I still have to work tomorrow. And this weekend. Fun.
