My father-in-law is in Intensive Care because he can't breathe on his own right now, and my wife is suffering from a cold that's getting worse and she is just refusing to let me take her to the hospital.
Although I made her promise to let me take her there after work tomorrow, so she stops being stubborn about it.

Why is it that nobody will just freaking listen to me? Even when I'm trying to help?

For the LIFE of me I can't get her to go even when she is unable to as much as pick up a basket.

Trust me, it can be HARD to get someone to the doctor who doesn't want to go.

In their defense, doctors are pretty scary, like what if you get diagnosed with something awful? Sometimes ignorance is bliss in most cases. I mean you should definitely still go see a doctor if you're feeling as bad as that, but I can see why people don't want to go.

It's just a matter of denial.
If they do get diagnosed with whatever terrible illness, then they'll have to freak out and do something about it. It is silly, but they're afraid of actually knowing what might be wrong with them.

My mom is a doctor and she still doesn't want to get her annual cancer check because she doesn't want to have the result say she has cancer.

So I guess it's just kind of like a fear of the unknown thing?

Well, one of my closest friend's grandpa is currently on his deathbed.
He's taking it surprisingly well, though I think that might have something to do with his belief in reincarnation, and the fact that his grandpa's apparently lead a very good life.

The things I fear about Doctors isn't diagnosis...

Its misdiagnosis, apathy, and skyrocketing charges for bullshit and a lot of stress and hassle for oftentimes nothing.

I do not fear death. I fear debt.
