Likewise. I had no idea the situation got so bad :'(

... Now I feel worse because Mastahcheese is one of the players (not the one that died) who was close to that character :'(

They couldn't get any blood out at all because her veins are so deep.
Right now she's trying to get some rest; they gave her some kind of pill, since they couldn't give her medicine through an IV like they wanted too.
I really hope they get done soon so we can go home, she's really not doing well, and she can barely talk or keep her eyes open.

That's nothing unusual considering she's just been put on chemo. It gets better, Mastah, trust me. I've seen the fight with cancer twice already, and both cases ended really well.

And Tack, if possible, I'd like to steal that idea and integrate it into my fate point system. I can even see what flaws my Rogue Trader campaign characters would posess: the trader herself is "obsessed with family honour", the techpriestess is an "annoyingly smartass tsundere", the void master has "showoff attention whore", the navigator has "chaotic stupid" and the astropath has "lazy coward". This is gonna be hilarious.

I thought she wasn't responding to chemo?

And that works well but the Fate point system in that game also plays off a lot of their other traits. The aforementioned vampire lord is also 'Influential', 'Fearless' and 'Rich as fuck'. Which the player can spend their earned points to use. The 'lazy bum guard' scenario relies on the guard having the 'lazy' trait (which many do), and then the player can spend a point to make the guard use it.

She wasn't responding to the one she was on.
She's on a new kind, now, the last thing they can try.
Today was her first day with it.

chainmaille

If you write 'maille' the chain part is implicit. (Technically it's also implicit if you just write 'mail'.)

This. So much this. Good luck, friendo.

Check out the World of Darkness system.
I do prefer FATE to WoD for hero-point-systemy-things, but I do like WoD's character creation better, and when it comes to making character-driven narratives, they're both very, very far ahead of D&D certain other systems, which tend to emphasize plot-driven narratives (that is to say, your characters are taking part in a story, rather than BEING the story, which is certainly fun but it's a different kind of fun). I also highly recommend a look at Burning Wheel, although the author's tone drives me bonkers.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I still can't reliably remember bay12ers without avatars. They're faceless! It's been especially bothering me lately since there's been a tiny influx of newbies in the forum games section.

I've played Genius on the WoD system. It was ok, but it disappeared right-quick.

Well, we're back home now, she's got a prescription for a new medicine that should help with the nausea.
Right now, she's laying down, trying to sleep, and cuddling our cats, so she seems to be doing relatively better.

Thanks for the support, everyone.

Just so everyone knows, I'm not ignoring your PMs.  Not in the... actually ignoring them way. I'm reading them. Just kind of too emotionally overwhelmed to respond right now. Easter was fun but I'm wiped.
