I think of trucks all the time actually. I love trucks.

And I think one of my sisters is getting me interested in trains. Halp.
No, Janet. You must embrace the choo-choo.

Y'know, when I bought this discount hamburger, I just expected it to be about to expire and kinda low-quality. I did not expect it to be full of gorramn bone shards. I'm going to have to keep an eye out over the next few days to make sure I didn't unwittingly swallow any, and the sensation of discovering them by biting into them has put me off ground meats for a good while. Although that's probably for the best.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Fun fact: before I got into trucking, I applied for several train conductor jobs that offered training and certification. None of them were interested, sadly.

After a couple months, I think I've decided that bulk cookery is not for me. I was spending less money, wasting less food, getting better nutrition, and generally happier back when I was cooking every day. Even if it's less convenient, it seems like it's just an important thing. Ah well.

I don't know about spending less, but I've found that cooking all three (sometimes four) of my meals every day is actually enjoyable. A bit dull though, since I have to cook early in the morning and don't have room for experimentation, so it's potatoes and eggs every day.
Some evenings I manage to include other ingredients, but mostly it's cheap food.
I'm sad about all the time I've spent eating junk food in the morning :(

This is why I want Soylent! Even if it's more expensive than other methods, it's a known quantity. I KNOW I'll be spending xxx amount of money on food, instead of "Eh, around this much maybe?"

Plus, ease of use~

So within 20 days there will be a 3D artist workshop in Zagreb, some awesome artists will be attending, especially one Ben Mauro who worked on a number of movies I've loved. This would be an awesome excuse for me to go on a three day trip there, see my cousin, have some fun and see these awesome people talk and work.

Sadly the event is also smack in the middle of midterm week.

Have to go help out at a church on sunday and I haven't really wanted to do it. Feel fucking sad that I don't feel like it.

There's going to be kids and I'm helping with them.

Why am I not happy about this?

Probably because I'm being made to go along with a promise of an 'Oh so exciting Scavenger Hunt' when in reality it'll probably be like the ones at Bible camp with the whole 'Riddles then pointless game then go to the next thing.'

Maybe I'm just too pessimistic ::)

I know how you feel. Brenda Brathwaite and John Romero visited our campus for the Video Game Design Club, but it was during one of my finals.

I drank about two liters of sweet tea over the course of this evening. I am not a smart man.

(To be fair, I cut the stuff that comes out of the machine with the unsweet stuff because I can't stand how sweet uncut sweet tea is, but even so...)

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

As I was sitting here, I just realized that as of exactly one week ago today, I've been working at a fast food place for two years.

Could be worse, I have a friend who was working at a McDonalds for a bit, there was an employee there who received a congratulatory ten years pin. For working there. For ten years. Straight.

Sad: Parents are fighting over something stupid. Dad overreacts at mom, mom overreacts at dad's overreaction, cycle of miscommunication continues until my mom runs out of the room crying and having an anxiety fueled panic attack and my dad walks out to sit in the car like a stubborn dumbass for however long he's going to sit out there. It's 11:00 at night ffs.
