Yeah, we didn't do anything cool like that at all in Chem class at my school.
Literally the coolest thing we did was stick some powder in water, and watch it change color as heat was applied.

Such entertainment. Much education. Wow.

I had to record water drying.
No seriously.

Oh, I believe you.
I had to do that too.
I also recorded paint dry.
I can see why people attribute it to boredom.

Playing an online game and trying to say 'It's just a game'.

Our chem class's first lab was dubbed "The Red-Green Lab" by the chem teacher. Named after The Red-Green Show because our school didn't want to pay for the proper equipment that was supposed to be used, and so part of the process involved an improvisation the teacher came up with. It was also the lab in which about 1 group per class would set their work area on fire. It was an alcohol distillation lab, which involved boiling the alcohol from a water-alcohol mixture using a Bunsen burner (the alcohol has a lower boiling point), then cooling and condensing the alcohol vapor into a glass container, leaving just the water in the original container. Open flames + alcohol vapor will result in a pretty impressively sized fire when the vapor isn't entirely condensed upon entering the open glass container. But it's a rather cold flame, so there isn't much risk of burns or of setting anything else on fire. Fun stuff.

Never did any fun chemistry in chemistry, but I did do some in biology. A quarter of the marks for the final practical were for walking into a lab equipped with everything you needed and then some, and testing various substances for the presence of various other substances.

One of my old schools did, however, have a science teacher with the dubious title of 'Only teacher in Gauteng to have set their tie on fire'. He also wrote a three page document on experiments that can be done with white phosphorus. The two may be related.

Blarglearg my body is doing its best to fall apart. I'm far, far too young for this, dang it! And it's not even as though I have an unhealthy lifestyle.

Tried broccoli again with dinner tonight. My zod is it disgusting. How do people eat this stuff?
I hated it as a child, but now I love the hell out of broccoli.  Especially when you stir-fry the shit out of it.  Browned broccoli is best broccoli.

I'm presently munching on a big bowl of stir-fried broccoli, soy beef, rice, bean sprouts, and onions with a mongolian sauce.  It's fucking wonderful.

Broccoli is good, but I will tell you right now Maximum Zero... NO ONE knows how to cook it correctly.

I'll put it to you this way. If it was bitter even slightly, it was cooked incorrectly.

It is the same thing with all vegetables. No one cooks them worth a squat.

I'm pretty sure if John Locke had had the opportunity to play some online games, he would have recanted the whole "Man is inherently good" theory.

I have a 'Mankind is exponentially more good based on how good you are' theory.

Simply by law of causality. If you're a nice person, and there's got to be a person out there who is almost identical to you, then they must be too.
But if there's 50 people out there almost identical to you, then that's 50 people who had the choice between being a good person and being a bad, and took good.
So if everyone who gets the urge to be bad but chooses to be good, does so, then that's millions of good people where there shouldn't be.
Thus upsetting the natural balance of the earth, and eventually culminating in universal human suicide, some hundred years down the track.

I feel bleh.

My ex-fiancee apparently figured out that I'd blocked her email, and made a new account to message me. I could've taken her being horrible like she's been being, but instead, she wrote a loving, apologetic email, and instead of just feeling irritated with her like I would've been, it hurts again that she left me, and I feel depressed as a result. I just want to curl up in a hole somewhere. lol
