Wait, they tried this shit at a unionized company? Oh god. That's going to be open warfare.

I read that as 'unionized' and was really confused and excited there for a minute.. I got let down after seeing what you really meant.

... There has got to be a classy lawsuit involving chemistry for somebody sufficiently trained in legalese with a large quantity of money and time to waste fucking with an already overtaxed justice system and I retract the "classy" part.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

With a large electrical current, presumably.

Yep/ We're union, and just started a 5-year contract. This is going to get nasty.

This video of a DEFCON AI vs AI match.
No, not the video itself. The comments.
The amount of seething nationalism and the fact that people don't even notice it's a game... staggering. I at least hoped Google fucking up Youtube would result in fewer overall (and so fewer stupid) comments. But no.

Sad: Country problems. Devastation hits via storm and..then politics asserts itself. And when I say politics, I mean arguments sprouting up on cases regarding how things are run and how things are being addressed from authority to the people and vice versa. Speaking as a generality, its hard to explain and pretty easy to misinterpret, but the feeling that there should just be more misunderstandings at this point is. . .distressing.

My empathy appears to be in overdrive.

Spider dropped down near me, I fed it to a pitcher plant, and now I feel guilty.

FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU AND YOUR FUCKING EMOTIONS, BRAIN!

Spider jumped on me in the shower one day.

I had to hasten it's descent down the plug hole. :/
