The best thing is to fall on the bed and just sleep forever ... i don't know how to sleep anymore judging by the fact that the sun is rising once again in my window.

Well at least if there is a billionaire somewhere who is ready to sponsor me , i can be an acceptable batman.

So we're certain now that my CPU is borked... and it's probably all my fault. Ugh.

I might be stuck using an old 2.2GHz processor for a while.
I know that feel. I lost my 2.6GHz computer a couple years ago to motherboard problems and had to go back to using my old 1.5GHz computer. It works and all but it has some problems with overheating that not even canned air can seem to fix.
Well my dad decided to buy me a new motherboard and CPU... I felt pretty awkward about that one...

And right now windows is refusing to start.

Since it's come up, I've been wanting to ask: Do any of you actually sleep well on a regular basis (no nightmares, feel rested upon waking)? Can you get to sleep in under one hour? And how often, if at all, do you wake up with splitting headaches?

Because in my experience, a good night is just a minor nightmare and no headache. I know that feeling good when you wake up is a real thing, because it's happened to me, but it's a rare occurrence.

I don't think i have nightmares usually and i don't have headaches, but i don't sleep very well. I can't sleep through the night so i generally wake up after 2 hours and can't go back to sleep.

It's usually at least an hour to fall asleep.

I also went through a period in my life where I had some pretty nasty nightmares pretty much every night. These days nightmares are a lot less rare, and I usually sleep alright... getting to sleep can be pretty difficult though.

*Hugs Hans*
+1 bro hug for Hans. Also, never before has the "I know that feel bro" meme been more relevant for use in online conversation.

Still, things could obviously be a helluva lot worse. As cliche as that is to say, it's sorta kinda somewhat a positive somehow if you don't think about it too much.

This doesn't apply to everyone, it's only the most common trend. Personally I think depression is more stimuli based; if you have no reason to be depressed between "30 and 40 years" then there's no reason to expect that "peak." Worrying about the future anyway will only make the present worse and entirely more possible for you to bum yourself out worse and turn it into a self-fulfilling prophecy, so don't worry about any potential future chance for shit to hit the fan because there's always a possibility for that anyway, depression or no depression.

Just keep calm and <verb> on, Hans.

Yeah, I spoke with another person that got sent to prison and then got put on probation. Obviously prison sucks but he said it goes by fast, and I have a very good chance of getting probation off the bat. I can't continue Drug Court, it's killing me, much faster than just being depressed will. I'm working toward something better though...

Lately this has been the case for me. In the past though, I've often had trouble sleeping. About two months ago there was one night where I actually couldn't sleep AT ALL. I just laid in bed for the entire night, without falling asleep once. That was terrible.

Told my boss today that I'm looking for other employment due to graduating college. He wasn't super-crushed or angry, he was just sad to see me go and wished that there was a full-time spot to put me in because, "It's not every day we find someone like you, [Max]."

Usually and never, but the former is because I work my brain hard enough that it's really very interested in sleeping at the end of the day.  Typically I sleep within 5 minutes.

Of course I'm also chronically sleep-deprived, grind my teeth, and have had recurring nightmares for the past 5 years at least (before college, I had the insomnia).

Heeee. I've woken up feeling rested... maybe a dozen times in the last two decades. Going to sleep in under an hour, very rarely. Splitting headaches on waking (and waking up feeling like I was running a major fever, occasionally, in terms of heat) was fairly common until I started drinking more water (especially before bed). Sleeping cycle still leans hard toward pretty fucked up, but it's a lot better than it used to be (nevermind I just woke up from an eight hour "nap" that started at ~2 PM, ha).

Nightmares are incredibly rare these days, though. Occasionally pretty violent or turbulent dreams, but I did have nightmares pretty consistently when I was younger and there's no candle to be had. Whatever part of my brain handles dreaming seems to really like the rest of it, t'be honest.

I go to sleep usually in 5 minutes or less, I don't dream 99% of the time, I sleep a solid 8 hours, and while not being a morning person, I wouldn't say waking up is unpleasant.

I lucked out in that regard, if in nothing else.

I don't really understand the morning/evening person divide.  I'm an anytime sort of person.  It always takes me a little bit to feel like working, and then I'm good until I need to crash.  Not that hard.  Like, I can be obnoxiously energetic at pretty much any hour of the day.
