I took my dogs out to the local cycle park, nestled in a side-valley. Usually, I take the dogs up there, and climb all the way up to the peak of the ridge line (like 300 ft above the elevation of the road, half a mile horizontally in a direction perpendicular to it) but today I was just too tired to actually make it up. Or maybe it was the excessive humidity, but either way I just couldn't climb all the way up this damn hill. The dogs agreed with me, though; they both went straight to the jeep and waited for me to let them in. Today is just a miserable day to do anything.

I've got time and gas to waste tomorrow, so if the weather is better I might go on a mini-roadtrip and explore some of the other valleys around here, nearer the mountains.

pets, especially dogs can sense what youre feeling so i think the reason the dog was tired along with you is because they didnt want
to tire you out more. At times like this i think you just need more willpower, force yourself to attempt to run up the hill, even if you end up collapsing afterwards in the grass or trip and fall on your face.
