Why do you think meeting people is stupid, exactly? Do you not find them to be useful resources? Heck, isn't meeting people what you've done HERE?

Also, beat me to the dependency statement. :P

Not really.

I'm not even sure if any of you even really exist.

I can safely say that any of my posts you might see are hallucinations unique to you, and any responses to them that you might see are misunderstandings on your part or equally hallucinated.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Went to the dentist today, and my upper lip is completely numb. This makes it difficult to eat things, and I'm hungry. Grr.

Re: programming classes, it's important to build a healthy respect for the rest of your team...the people who do all the art and sound assets.  You need to learn what they do, how long it takes, what obstacles they have, and /what you need to give them for them to do their jobs/.

If you're not whipping up your own projects in your spare time, you're doing it wrong.

Also see if you can find a good class about project management.  Something with Gantt charts, they love them in that kind of class.  Ask around.

Really though, game development is a lot like painting: You gotta apply stuff outside of class, and try new things outside of class.
