Back to the topic! I spent almost 15 minutes scraping stuff that I can't eat off of a sandwich today. My boss made fun of me the whole time. In front of all of my peers in the district.

... what was wrong with your sandwich?

That sounds horrific, actually.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Shredded lettuce that had embedded itself into the bread and tomatoes. The taste never goes away, no matter how much you scrape! >_<

wait lettuce doesn't really have a taste

Well I guess it has a small one. You must really hate it.

Lettuce has a taste and a texture, and they're terrible.

I disagree, the taste does go away; the problem is that it is nearly impossible to remove all shredded lettuce from a dish without removing almost everything else with it.

B-Babylon 5... I think I just watched the only romantic episode of a TV show that's ever managed to make me cry.  Or make me feel anything whatsoever.  Funny how it can be the same stereotypical story, but somehow, done correctly...

Pfeh.

Of course, I'm guessing it's that May-December romance fetish happening again, so there you go.  How easily I succumb.

The sandwich had enough lettuce on it to make the bread soggy. With lettuce juice. ;_; So terrible...

Lettuce is like, the ultimate filler.

I'll forgive you if you're allergic or whatever, though.

@re: romance

Wait there exists a TV show with a decent romance? I haven't seen one... well... ever. Card Captor Sakura's got me emotional, but that's because I was like 14 and still getting to understand that sort of thing.

Uncrisp soggy lettuce. Gotcha. That sucks.

Wait, I thought lettuce was technically a herb, not a vegetable.

Third episode of the first season of Babylon 5 is strangely good.  I also ship Kafka and Zetsubou Sensei, and, uh, characters from Dragonball whose names will not be mentioned here for reasons of shame and embarrassment.

That said, only the first one can really be called "romance."  The other two are filed away under assholish teasing.
