I went to a funeral today. I was asked beforehand if I wanted to say anything, and I just stood silently and shook my head. I can not tell you how much I regretted that. I really should have said something.

At least you didn't say you would say something but not say anything good.

I think not saying something good would have been better than not saying anything. Nobody really gave some speech straight from a movie, but at least they had the balls to say something.

This sentence makes no sense. Why does it contain such un-happy things, but the tilde at the end of it suggest happy things?

My daughter went to bed complaining of a headache last night, which is odd for a 4-year old. Gave her some children's painkillers and she settled into a restless sleep. Jump forward to 2:30am, when she wakes up screaming, has a fever and proceeds to start vomiting. By 3, she and my wife are on the way to the emergency room. Five hours and an IV drip later, she was back home and feeling better. They ruled out meningitis (thank the gods), but still not 100% sure what the hell that was all about. They think maybe something called fifth disease, which her little brother probably had over the weekend, and which was running rampant in his class at daycare. But it's not supposed to be anywhere near that severe, so I'm still worried.

Plus, now I've got a splitting headache. Guess I'll find out soon what I end up with.  :(

I'm not a doctor, but the symptoms sound a lot like my personal experience with the noro virus.

Could be. My wife and I have both had norovirus in the past, and you're right the symptoms are more similar. And now I've got a low fever and joint pains as well. At least my "weekend" starts tomorrow. Now if I can just make it through today at work.

Meanmelter's post essentially said I WAS IN IT FOR THE BITCHES.

I was very confused by this. I chuckled for a second, then scrolled down, and hopy shit, here comes vector on the warpath because meanmelter cracked a fucking joke.

The joke Toady removed was about drugging and raping me, to my personal enjoyment, because I don't play RTDs.

Poor meanmelter.  So misunderstood.
That post removal really bothers me. All it does is making the ban look like a moderators whim.

I mean I looked up his posts back then, saw the meme-picture and his capslock messages.
Mute worthy? Maybe. Ban worthy? No.
That's what I thought back then.

It also makes the banned person prone for badmouthing, since the reason for his banning is communicated via word-of-mouth.
I'd really like to make my own judgement on those matters, rather than relying on an angry witness.

Besides, those posts can always serve as a bad example.

Eh, i think it would be better if the post remained but the content removed and replaced with a brief moderator note for be reason.

It removes inappropriate material while still showing that it was there.

Meh, when someone's banned I just pretend they never existed. Works ok.

Hey, keep it more subtle.  We don't want the big toad to know what we're doing.
