And nothing of value was lost.

But if you really care about ED that much, there's an explanation here from an ED sysop.

Yup that seems completely fair and unbiased.

Lack of funding and owner not caring what anyone else thinks.
Sounds like plain business to me, though theres no doubt a mirror site of ED already up somewhere, or in the process of being up-ed.

Sounds a little like bullshit to me, given that Girlvinyl appears to still be administrating.

But eh, it was going to happen eventually. ED's been having monetary issues for years now. It's a shame because ED was one of the few repositories of *chan culture (not just memes, actual goings-on) that existed in any permanent fashion and was easy to catch up on.

well, while it's true the new site looks like it has nothing to offer the internet,  i don't think i'm going to miss ED that much either... this probably deserves it's own thread, though.

My computer joined forces with part of the mission I was running to seriously fuck me over. I lost my most expensive ship to a stupid goddamn coincidence which wouldn't happen if my computer actually worked the way it's supposed to. uuugh. Hate this goddamn machine, and now it's fucking buzzing like it does when it's doing 'hard' work. I have one fucking window open, it's this one, and I'm typing in it. This isn't even approaching difficult. Shut the hell up.

I'm taking an axe to you as soon as I can use anything else. Fucking useless machinery.

I paid good money for that wall!

Actually, I play EVE Online a fair amount, and that's what I was referring to. Also that post started out sad then became rage material. I should probably have stopped then.

In reality, I have no confidence for its improvement.
You're just saying that because the first derivative of your mood-graph is currently negative. Take the second derivative, and you'll find that you have an upward concavity. You can only see the tangent line from here. Relax and ride the curve, comrade.

I don't know what it is about Wikipedia, but I just can't seem to get the Gothic version working.
I can see the sidebar stuff just fine, but no actual text. :I

Folks in my rhetoric class going "I would have never considered myself a feminist until this class!"

Some of these people are men, but there's lots of women, too.

Oh.  My.  God.  What.  The.  Fucking.  Fuck.

What's wrong with that? Seems to me like they've learned something.

Feminism gets a bad rap from a lot of people. To the point where I'm usually cautious to apply it to myself because often it calls thoughts of misandry to peoples' minds. Maybe they just learned feminism isn't really like that?

Also, apparently misandry isn't a word according to Opera's spellcheck...
