Walk to a nearby park and take an MP3 player with you. Start walking down a path with some music playing with one foot on the path and one foot on the soil. When you feel comfortable think to yourself of a measure in the song that isn't too far away and close your eyes. Keep walking down the path with your eyes closed 'till you reach that audio cue. This is best done with other people on the path and with a friend to keep you from walking into things.

 Amazing what fear this makes in you, and how you can practice with it.

Taking one step too many on a staircase will freak me the hell out.  As does the air freshener that goes off when I pass by it

Why is there an air freshener in you house at face-level?
That just sounds like a really bad idea, especially if it's one of those "squirt" ones that spray a bit of areosol freshener.

I can see Toony just walking by and then all of the sudden *FRESH MACE* and then his face stings because it's just so fresh.

The stairs down to the basement has an air freshener set right to the side.  It's one of those PPSSSSSTTTT ones too that shoots a geyser of poison into my nose and lungs.  I flinch everytime even though I know it's there.

I hate to sound callous, but there are always more people. Is college/university or trade school in your near future? If so, chin up. It's an excuse to completely revamp your personality.

Or, you could just do it at random. There's nothing wrong with Ochita v.1, but if you need to be Ochita v.2, then that's who you need to be. To hell with everyone else.
