Hence the afaik. I can't say I look at Toady and Threetoe's posts to see who ends up with the mods happening to them.
Anyway, bottom line is there's no real need for AoD (or others) to feel worried, short of starting a round of all-out trolling or suchlike. People are shockingly calm on Bay 12.

Oh, I got 4 seperate violation of computer rules notifications pop up at school today. And I didn't even do anything that was against the computer safety rules.
WHAT THE FUUUUUU-

Kill the notifier software on your PC and use proxies. And kill the wordfilters. And disable the IP blocks if you can, if they're not wired into the school server.

UK schools are rediculous for what you can't do on them. I'm surprised you can even get on here, it was blocked at my school.

Just wreck the protection systems, people. It can't be that hard, no matter what your school may be using. There are even tutorials online.

Well, for a start, everything on the computer is taped, the teachers can see EVERYTHING you do (except with some laptops) and if you go on a proxy, it just shuts down and you get a big U HAV VIOLATED DA RULEZ! IM DOBBING!!1111!1 message.

Bay12 is blocked at my school now, along with Outpost Universe (forum for a different game).  I'm actually more proud of this than sad because I'm pretty sure that they were blocked because I kept visiting them last year.  There's no way they would have found out about OPU otherwise, it's far too obscure.

Oh man, I love debating which combination of the words death, black, grind, core, thrash, speed, punk, and doom a band is and isn't.

Yeah, but then you get expelled. And some of us want an education.

Expelled for shutting down some processes and modifying some connection propperties? Damn. The UK is weird.

Well, for a start, everything on the computer is taped, the teachers can see EVERYTHING you do (except with some laptops) and if you go on a proxy, it just shuts down and you get a big U HAV VIOLATED DA RULEZ! IM DOBBING!!1111!1 message.

See what processes the PC is running, kill the ones that the teachers use to keep tabs on you, and blacklist them. Hell, it's not like they have nothing better to do than keep their eyes glued to the screen.

Anyway, any school system going to such lengths falls into overkill, and becomes more instructive by teaching ways to wriggle arround the rules.

You can't get into the task manager. By any means. Nor the cmd screen.

EDIT: And yes, we're weird. Why do you think we're known as the nanny state?
