Rome was built on the backs of slaves, and all that.

I'm also not very fond of such blatant hedonism and corruption that went goes on within the Empire.

Then again, I'm being a hypocrite, since I'm a bit of a hedonist (but I don't go and have orgies, eat extravagant feasts and make myself throw up so I can eat more, shitliekdat)

That made me sad.

...

I actually did send a function that graphs to a heart as a valentines gift to an ex quite a while ago... She didn't appreciate it even after I explained it and typed it into a graphing calculator for her.

That is distinctly uncool, especially if you did more than just the usual "derp, it's a cardioid" thing.

On the other hand... roses, anyone?  Sin(ntheta) for everyone!
...

Yep, I was/am a total dork, but the gift also came with chocolate. I never liked giving flowers because the smell bothers me.

I always had a thing for Carthage, partly because the name sounds great, but a whole lot because of Hannibal's sheer awesomenessity. That guy was an intellectual powerhouse.

...Angry, math-filled love?
I'll be with the romans, who managed to take a large amount of land, and who brought in roads, plumbing, and other good technological advancements.
But apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

Basically nothing, mathematically =/

They made amazing civil improvements, but in terms of the arts or, say, anything outside of engineering... well, they were kind of unimpressive in the extreme.

Speaking as someone who plans to be an engineer, i'd have to disagree with the "unimpressive to the extreme" bit

Eh, some people can build. Others can think.

And the rest just likes to be unproductive.

Outside.

There's a word there that you might want to pay attention to.

Something that made me sad:

I just saw a half-dead kitten, when I went walking.

It was partially ran over. I don't think it would've lasted much longer.
