Pretty sure I just got absolutely served.
So I was waiting around after school because why bother setting off too early when using public transport. So a friend comes up and I asked what she was doing at the weekend, because that's standard Friday things. She told me that she was having a birthday party (which I could have guessed. People tend to do that around their birthday), but didn't know exact numbers. I figured this was going to be a segue into an invite, but like it was scripted another friend comes up and goes, "Oh sorry, I don't know if you got my text but I can't come this weekend. Sorry." Then she said it was okay and whatever. Then looked at me, paused like thinking of what to say, then said, "Well I have to go now, bye."

Stone. Fucking. Cold.
