Just gave a presentation for a math class o_o It's the first time that I've had to give a talk in lieu of a final exam.

I ... think I killed it? At least according to the standards of being a first-year grad student? Really happy to be done. Think I might buy some gelato tonight to celebrate!

EDIT: AND a perfect score too. OK, now I can sleep.

I just solved a musical scripting problem that's been bothering me for weeks.

I feel amazing.

So I made a list of 15 stocks.

10 are 'meh', with a few I chose because they were shakey.  a few were reasonable, and chosen to see where they went.  And the 5 I chose because if I weren't doing it dry I'd pick them.


Now to follow up  . . . . .  Also I know it's pretty impolite to give advice, but anyone have any specific preferences they like and deign to share?

Second chat (thursday) went well, I really, really like her.

I honestly never thought anyone could meet the picture in my head. She doesn't swear, smoke, drink. She loves travel, reading, dancing, dressmaking, learning. She's good looking. And she's just all round cute.

Course I haven't told the family about her because she's an Irish Catholic, but baby steps and all!

Im excited.  Like, I had to restrain myself from starting tonight.  This is a big step that, if it even goes half right, is a gateway.  Or just a way to spend all my money and free time, idk.

Here is the thing, in the oversimplified idiotic way only I can bring up... did not occur to anyone at the time to stop and think, fuck, we are all actually christians, this is what Jesus would have actually wanted?

I know the conflict have more to it than that, but its been a long time ago, people should learn to not make a whole group of persons for the actions of only part of them.

At any rathe, I come from a catholic family and married with what pass as protestants here (or distants decendats after being imported from USA anyway). No one bated and eye. Different worlds I guess.

Honestly, religion is more or less just a proxy for nationalism in that particular fight. Nobody cares what Jesus would have wanted when one half of the disagreement think they're being oppressed by monarchist reactionaries and the other half have all lost friends and family to car bombs...
