I've been growing a passion flower vine indoors (whilst doing my best to control their infestation of my garden), when I noticed something rather endearing. The passion flower vine is such a plant that it needs to depend upon something to support it, otherwise it gets nowhere. I had considered it a nasty plant for this reason, it would climb over all my other plants and choke them to death, using their dead bodies to support their further thirst for more sunlight. The one I had begun to grow indoors however has refused to be confined by such limits. Having exhausted all the physical supports I had provided for it, two separate arms of the same mother plant have come together after half a metre of divergence and wound around each other.
Individually, neither could grow any higher.
But by winding together, like the two strands composing DNA, they have begun to grow higher in a manner I have never before seen the vine achieve. They are reaching heights that should be impossible, all on their own, all without killing any other plant. It seems there is a spot for this vine to remain in my garden peacefully after all, if cared for in the right way

In the Vatican, a 50 year old priest, the Italian Carlo Alberto Capella, has been arrested and is facing up to 12 years in Vatican dungeons for the posession of massive quantities of child pornography.
This makes him the first person ever to be officially charged for child porno in the Vatican.

Only since 2013 is it forbidden in the Vatican to posess, sell, or distribute child porno. Happy to see they are actually starting to enforce it now.

Capella was already wanted by the US and Canada for downloading and distributing child porno using church computers..
The US ministry of Foreign Affairs had asked to Pope last August to revoke the priest's diplomatic immuity, so he could be charged before a US court.
Not only did the Pope refuse, he also hurriedly recalled him from Washington, to the Vatican, before the US and Canadian authorities could finish their investigation and have an arrest warrant ready.
I guess the Pope realized that made him look (like a) bad (pedo), and decided to persecute prosecute him himself.

Anyway, happy news: a friend opened up to me about something they don't usually, and they're happier about the way certain family issues are going. So... that was nice.

Stein's Gate is a nice anime. MC is, among other things, amazingly funny. Sucks that I can't play the VN though );

Edit: Actually, the VN would be quite weird, wouldn't it? I believe you play as Okarin, and he's kinda got that sort of... yunno, that Sherlock sort of thing, with how Watson's the narrator? Like, it'd be really weird to actually know what he's thinking.
