I remember the same.  It wasn't naming the lever.  It was leaving a note of some kind that you had to go out of your way to view.  But it was there, and served the purpose that names most likely will.

Yeah, it was through notes. And finding the relevant note and lever combo isnt a smooth process. The battlefailed forts were particularly bad about that. I spent two days trying to find the lever to operate the atom smasher once. Turned out the lever got trashed while nobody thought to remove the note.

Ha ha. Had to look that up. The game didn't give that much detail other then the prose being adequate? ok? Can't remember the exact word.
