*Gasp*

Snow is brilliant. So many childhood memories. I see those memories crushed in the eyes of fellow students and older people, milled down by the common practicalities of life. When I get like that, I shall truly despair.

I've always wondered how snow feels like in-person.
There are many kinds of snow. It can feel like anything from powdery to slushy to hard as rock, depending on how weather is and had been lately.
Quote
Especially a snowball, or how to make one with a thick glove and then form a really nice sphere of snow.
Making a snowball is just as easy as forming a ball from dough in your hands, if the snow is good. For the best snow, you need the air to be around 0 to +2 degrees Celcius, and for it to not have rained water recently.
Quote
Like, if you use a wool glove, do those tiny fibers stick to the snowball?
Yes. Snowballs are hard to make and throw with certain types of handwear.
Quote
Or is it like compacted-but-soft-and-opaque ice?
A well-made snowball, yes.
Quote
I've only seen people hold snow with gloves and protection, all in the movies and otherwise--can you hold it barehanded?
Yes, and if the air is particularly cold, they actually harden for good aerodynamics after being melted a bit by one's hand's warmth and pressure.
Quote
Is it like 'badly cold in 3 seconds'?
Depends on the person, but most people can handle snow barehanded for a while. It's also notable that handling snow may make one's gloves wet, reducing their insulative properties and making one feel cold in the long term.
Quote
Like holding ice cubes that you can see the subtle vapor trailing off the top?
When the air is freezing cold, it's generally too dry for that to happen. If you bring snow inside a warm and humid house, it will happen, but might be hard to notice because the snow itself also melts.

There's no place like home for the holidays.

No matter which holiday.

Also, 2 hours 15 minutes until the radio starts playing Christmas music!

It's snowing in the mountains!
It was raining here earlier with more on the way!

Huzzah for precipitation!

Now I'm thinking of Tom Baker's (as the Doctor) scarf, with bells on.  :P

We got a very light dusting of snow the other day. It's already all melted, but... I suppose it means winter is rearing up to slam into us head-on.

Let's get it over with...

What is this thing, snow? Is it some sort of northen dweeb with a bad propensity to come back to life despite being a derp character? Show me this snow so I can sword him myself.

Speaking of which, I watched the hunger games last night. It was epic.

Moment of confusion resolved when I remembered President Snow.

Also, Jon Snow is my second favourite character beside Tyrion in the books. He is like Ned, only more flexible and relatable.

I just cleared my "Updated Topics" list. Don't know why, but it feels good to do it every once in a while.

By the way, how long are your guys' lists? Do you even use it?
