Project M best Smash.
I went to a friend's house to play the other week. I was like "Smash is fun, let's play." Then he and the other guy who was there were like "Project M!" and pulled it up and were way, way, way more competitive than I intended. On top of that, my buttons were not doing what my buttons were supposed to be doing. And why does everyone hate the items so much they are literally the most fun thing in the game. Oh well, I suppose I get like that with Mario Kart. The new Mario Kart was literally invented for babies, it needs a Project M.
I see what you're saying. I suppose I should've said "I like Project M the best". Admittedly I like competitive smash more than casual funsies, so I'm probably biased. Competitive playing is funsies for me. One aspect I like of P:M is purely development based though, it's done by people who play competitive smash and like the gameplay from Melee and they listen to the competitive player base. They're closer to the playerbase for their game than Nintendo, I guess I'm trying to say, so they're more likely to listen to what the playerbase would like. Additionally, PM is very balanced. Characters are designed so they can be viable in competitive, meaning every single one should be fairly balanced, and I like how they approached character designa nd balance like that. Unlike more recent Nintendo Smashes, with stuff like "hoo-hah", or Melee where there's clear tiers of characters with Fox and Falco being top tier all year, or Brawl with Metaknight.
The button issue could either be because your controller had button issues, or the character you were playing had been changed by the P:M devs.
A Mario Kart game built for competitive play could be interesting. But items would need to be reworked. Either remove some rng, or remove items completely, I guess.
