The guy who made xlcd wrote a book, which my sorry excuse for a local library had a copy of. its a good book thus far.

The material helper is now way too detailed.

I can't find most of those values for iron. Iron! The most common thing on the planet! Iron, which costs $200 to the ton!

The main problem is the equipment required to get the pressures required to get the data required.

Try using wolfram alpha, it's pretty good about having the various properties you need, a quick glance and I'm not seeing any that are missing from it's page on iron. (Make sure to click the "more" buttons when applicable).

I've eaten relatively healthily today. I had a weird fruit drink that was actually made out of nothing but fruit (and tea I guess), and even though it was pretty expensive I felt pretty good about myself after drinking it.

I'm sure about midway through tomorrow I'll say "This is bullshit" and eat like 20 cheeseburgers, but for now I'm feeling OK.
