I've been given yet more vouchers for a local bookstore. I don't understand why people insist on giving vouchers when money is infinitely more versatile.

Because it's a way to give you money while still pretending to know you well enough to target your interests when selecting gifts, whereas cash is "we are obliged to gift you but have no clue what you'd want, and you're young enough to need money".

I got I think $200 dollars for christmas. Oh I could put it back to save me from emergencies due to crippling poverty, but watching my money get eaten away by bills is as depressing as it sounds.

I'm going to get four more piercings. I'm not sure how many face piercings I ultimately intend to have, but I'm not sure there is really a too many option there.

When your face gets ripped off by an MRI?

ahh but all piercings are surgical stainless steel or implant grade titanium, so that won't happen. I don't even go off in airport checks. I have taken my piercings out for surgery before, but my newish dermal can't be taken out without being re-pierced. So doctors would have to work around it. I know the quality of the material, so I would risk it. The metal is not magnetic.

I've actually shocked a few TSA people that scanned me, because they expected me to beep like crazy.

I think I'd prefer to put money towards bills than piercings, but that's just me.

Stainless steel's magnetic enough, but I don't know about titanium alloys. They are eldritch things to me, and you'd know more about them than I. No tattoos for Bauglir, though (tempting as it sometimes is to get something like my avatar).

Also, the outrageously expensive restaurant I got dragged off to for dinner was quite good. Not $80 good, but I wasn't paying. And, this way, I ate many things that I'd never eaten before, including rabbit, turtle, and mascarpone.

oh god I have sooo much tattoo work I want done, but it's easier to pay for piercings and they mean more to me.

I have to drive 2 hours to get to good tattoo artists. So multiple day projects are hard, and they would require a lot of money.

I am exceptionally picky about tattoo artists. Early on, the moment I turned 18, I got a woman in a parlour tattoo some stuff on me and she had great bodywork herself, but couldn't tattoo for shit. The dragon on my wrist (which I originally wanted to go to my elbow, but thank god I didn't have the money,) is now a big black band with a branding on it because it was so terrible, despite being the very stereotype of bad tattoos. She also did the monkey king on my back and it looks terrible. I want a full back tattoo that covers it up but that is expensive.

My rib tattoo is one I wanted since I was 16, and it is awesome, but I have gained and lost so much weight over time part of it is stretched and torn a bit, and needs touch up work.

My current interest is a face tattoo in white ink of the formula for nuclear fusion in a star. which reminds me I need to make a post so I can get the right equation and understand it completely.

I've wanted to tattoo my face since I was about 19, so I think I've mulled it over enough at this point. It is definitely something that should be considered carefully.
