I had a small Christmas morning with mom, and we're travelling out to sister's place for dinner later today. She got me some snacks that I've been craving and a new pair of slippers, and I got her some psychology books (she loves mind things).

Everyone loved the things I got for them, which was a huge relief. The highlight of my gifts was by far a ticket to a Bob Segar concert, but I also got some awesome books, a small LEGO kit, and a giftcard for GameStop.

I got coal. Uh... Cinnamon hard candy that looks like and is labeled as coal.

I also got Oreos, AssCred4BlackFlag, ZombieU, the Samus Aran Amiibo, Calgary Flames earbuds, more candy, a toothbrush, a dice game inspired by The Big Bang Theory, and socks.  (Edit: And a new computer desk, YES!)

I went out and paid 6 dollars for a corkscrew. While obscene, this finally allowed me to get at the perry I bought at a gas station, so now at least I have tasty alcohol.

EDIT: Ok, I'm not normally one for using alcohol to solve problems, but goddamn does it make an unpleasant situation easier to endure. Tourism: never again.

I'm going to spend as much of tomorrow as I can holed up in the New Orleans public library. That, at least, ought to be an interesting place.

Holy shit I had no idea that was a thing. I actually used whatever the function it is to check the page HTML and read the image size from there, then divided both dimensions in my head.

Also, lolsnowstorm after a snowless year up until now. Yay!

If we're comparing gifts, got around the equivalent of 100$ total, almond cookies, chocolate and a swanky as hell black leather satchel. My previous satchel, while it has served well, was also... less than professional in appearance.

Happy holiday-celebration-thing-day.

I got my mitts on the 4th and 5th seasons of Leverage on DVD (woo hoo, con artists), the Secret Life of Walter Mitty (the 2013 one, again on DVD, woo hoo excellent film/feature-length Papa John's and eHarmony commercial), and some actual D&D 3.5 handbooks (woo hoo, I can finally run my games without resorting to the SRD and digging through Google).

But perhaps best of all, I got Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. HELLS YEAH, OLD FIRE EMBLEM GAMES.

I also got a small Chinese copycat Bluetooth radio. I don't mind the fact that it's a knockoff thingie, mind you. It's pretty nice.

Also a book titled "scientific theories explained in thirty seconds". Pretty nice, and I now finally understand the point of Schrodingers Cat.
