Today I discovered that I can, in fact, put my foot down at work.

Basically, I was initially told that the load I'd be pulling was starting three hours late, driving a hundred-plus extra miles, doing all sorts of crazy bullshit that would more than likely break this route's promise of being home every night. Basically, a bad deal all around and I'm not sure what the planner was smoking when he or she came up with it.

So I told my dispatcher, politely but firmly, that this was unacceptable. I told her that it was way too late for starters, that my clock had already started and I would almost definitely run out of hours before I could get home. I suggested that she find a different load, or I would go home for the day.

Not ten minutes later, my crap load was removed and I got something much more manageable (by which I mean actually possible). I was sure to send a polite thank-you and ended up getting back home nice and early.

I get tomorrow off! That said, I have to deal with my ex-wife, so it's not all good, but I'm happy about the day off.

Oh hey, burritos. Haven't had one of those in a while.

HAPPY: Going to see an absolutely insane lineup of bands this evening! :D
Going to make myself some eggs and toast, maybe a chai, and then head off. Oh, and I bought some booze earlier, so all going well I'll do a Drunk Fortress turn when I get home, too!

When mercury was not feared, when you could simply buy or make things like linseed oil, powdered red lead, and Amyl Valerinate. It's a window into a different time, before lawsuits and warning labels on mattresses. I'm completely in love with it.
You still can, actually. Maybe not at the store, but on the internet. And if not on the internet, then in the Netherlands. Or on the Dutch internet. The real problem now is the tracking that's going on.

If you like old scientific literature, but aren't dead-set on holding a physical book in your hands, I got something for you. Chemical literature, with such gems as 'Industrial Fermentations', 'Laboratory Glass-Working for Scientists', 'Industrial Nitrogen Compounds And Explosives' or even 'The War Gases: Chemistry and Analysis'. Most of the stuff's from 1910 - 1960, but the oldest book appears to be 'A Manual of the Chemistry of the Carbon Compounds; or, Organic Chemistry', from 1874.

So I've been binge watching anime in some sort of 'screw it, it's there so I might as well' and I happened across Toriko, and holy shit guys, I could probably throttle someone with the cuteness/weirdness in some of those scenes, I would have nightmares if I ate anything in that world because of it's bloody insanity considering the main character has immortal regenerating jellyfish cells implanted in him that makes him stronger the more he eats while his friends have to powers of super poison, super hair and yelling really hard.
It's impossible to describe what goes on there sometimes not mentioning a massive disregard for how basic physics work, and I love it.

I can tell what game that is. I don't remember how many missions there are, though, have you defeated the final final boss yet?

Speaking of, I love that game but what are the conditions to unlock the perfect stealth missions after the first 2?
And anyone else love this game the most out of that franchise? Mostly because of the ability to gear up in low quality gear (naked mostly) so It really feels nice when you S rank it.

I've S ranked every single mission.

@execute There are ex ops or main ops you haven't finished yet. Just beat all of them. Find the ones you have no rank in and complete them.

There's 161 total.

That game was so incredibly easy. So so so easy. I beat the main ops and I swear to you I S-ranked every single one except the boss fights on my first try, then I did a lot of soldier farming (which is where the 200+ missions with kills came from) and went back to do my completion thing.

Vehicle ops are a bitch even with max upgrade to your item fulton and fulton mines and the fulton launcher, monster hunting was challenging but easier if you fight half-naked, the mk.ii boss fights were meh especially once you had the M47 and the armor w/helm except for PW who gave me a really hard time and I was stuck at an A until I got the bandana, and the target practice missions were the fucking worst and I had to retry over and over 'til I found the perfect weapon for each one. Everything else I S'd on the first try.
