so i've been thinking

but then i sat down, put on some music and forgot everything

Just said screw it and bought work boots instead of "nicer" ones. They're black so they can do in an office/court setting in a pinch without being noticed. I hate dress shoes, because they are made to "look good" rather than to last. I wear out soles on mine.

These actually feel good, are sleep resistant and utilitarian.

Heh. Picked up the Ghostbusters video game, and holy shit, is it fun. It's by no means the best game I've ever played, but dammit, it's up there. I mean, what kid who saw Ghostbusters didn't want to strap on a nuclear backpack and fire streams of charged particles at incorporeal beings?
