As for that discussion on drinking a couple of pages back, drunkenness is definitely in the "pleasant/happy" category for me.
I start to feel nicely buzzed at around 2-4 drinks, get a bit unsteady at 6, and at 8 or more I'm pretty much out of it. In a good way. I don't drink myself unconscious or anything silly like that, though. The one time I threw up was all rum's fault. My poor TWD collection... ;_;

On whether or not having Asperger's is all that bad--

Hmm. So, don't get me wrong, there's nothing really wrong with having Asperger's. I've had a lot of autistic friends through life and I really quite appreciate their company. It's not meant to be a value judgment on autism-spectrum people at all; it's a personal thing.

However, I was incorrectly diagnosed with it in a very difficult phase of my life (like, I was literally in the middle of going insane), I always questioned it, it fucking DESTROYED my self-esteem, it had a HUGE amount of abuse coming with it on the part of my significant other of the time, and it's a big relief to know now that I don't come off that way and I can kind of close the books on the whole thing. That diagnosis has been used, over and over again, to discount my talent as "she's not ACTUALLY skilled, she's just autistic!" Now I don't have to think anymore about whether or not they're right.

Bleh. It's hard to explain. But it really is about the circumstances of the original diagnosis more than anything else. I know that I'm probably not what most people would consider, strictly-speaking, neurotypical, but it's... it's not that.

For one thing, "Asperger's" no longer exists under that name, so pretty much every person with it whose psych[olog/iatr]ist follows the DSM-5 got mass-undiagnosed a while ago.

For another, good. It's right up there with ADHD as the most convenient 'conditions' that parents get applied to their kids for being 'different'. Not to say there aren't legitimate cases of either, but both seem way overreported.

Now I know what makes me rage. The stupidity of denouncing a person's...personhood by those kinds of labels.
