I never imagined you as someone who wears skirts, I have to say.
I don't really. I just mean this particular pair of cargo pants. Which are... Pretty much the only pants I bother with. I like having room and they're comfy and durable.
I sometimes wear skirts. But I always wear shorts under them anyway. I guess I'm not that fashion minded now that I think about it... Given my usual thought process for clothes goes like this.
Is it comfortable? Will it survive heat? Is it not a pain to remove or put on? Will it not get shredded if I accidentally drop a freshly made blade onto it? And that's pretty much it.
Speaking of fashion, I am happy because my trenchcoat project has been a complete success.
You see, I have a very practical, lightweight trenchcoat, but it used to be a very, very ugly shade of brown that didn't really go with anything else in my closet. Not a problem, you say, you can always dye it a different colour! But here's the catch: the damn thing was water resistant, and that meant that, as long as the coating remained intact, dye would not be able to get into the fabric, at all. So instead I had to literally boil the trench with detergent, an old Russian method, and then painstakingly pull the white flakes of coagulated waterproof resin out of it. It took me a better part of the day to do that, and then I needed to actually dye it, so I kept a washing machine running way into the night and had a fight with my neighbour, who didn't like all the noise, but now the coat is looking absolutely marvelous, dark green with contrast stitching.
I'll post pictures tomorrow.
