I, too, fell a few notch in the "don't wear expensive clothes" thing today, when I finally realized that the sunglasses I got two birthdays ago were not random cheapos, but ~$200 Serengetis. I honestly had no fucking idea! That makes them the single most expensive birthday present I've ever gotten, and the second most expensive article of clothing I own.

My birthdays/Christmases are all about books. 30 new books last year between my birthday and Christmas. I'd say it was economical...but those things are damned expensive. Other than that, my most expensive birthday present was the laptop I'm using now.

So I've started doodling this dude, inspired in part by the song Zetsubou Billy. Moments ago, I decided to sate my curiosity and find out what it actually meant. Turns out it's despair or hoplessness.

Which is rather fitting since the dude in question is a bounty hunter who was raised from the dead and wears this mashup of things but mostly looks like a demonic bunny in samurai garb. Sorely tempted to tatto his forehead with the kanji (is that the name for the squggly japanese writing?) for zetsubou.

Kanji is the name for the Chinese writing adopted for cultural prestige centuries ago to write totally unrelated Japanese and retained since.

Hiragana is the squiggly letters. It actually means "flower letters" or something IIRC. Real masculine samurai-type stuff

Bell keepers are players that invade other players trespassing on one of the two bell towers. Relentlessly. Sometimes in groups.

Like I said, it's fun! You get Titanite for it too which is pretty nice.
