What's wrong with using magma? That's almost always the easiest method.
I have issues channeling it properly to do that method. I end up flooding the fortress with magma.

Hung out with family all day.  Got stuff.  Saw 47 Ronin with everyone.  It was good.  Good day overall. 

Finally got Starbound!!  Now if I can just get Steam to download faster than 1k/s.
