1. He's from the future. There are already 3 other time-traveling robots: Numidium, Akulakhan, and Queen Ayrenn/KINMUNE. All of those, mind, are extremely important in their respective games: Daggerfall, Morrowind and Skyrim/Elder Scrolls Online (KINMUNE founded the human-hating Thalmor), just as Pelinal is important in Oblivion (the Champion of Cyrodiil follows his path almost perfectly in the main quest as well as Knights of the Nine).

Took a drive with my dad, out to the country. Acquired some pumpkins, some produce, and plenty of cow slobber all over my sleeves. Cow apparently wanted to eat my whole arm. Going to be making Pumpkin Pie from scratch sometime soon; we got a few good Pie Pumpkins while we were out. Apparently, "canned pumpkin pie filling" tends to be butternut squash! Looking forward to seeing how the authentic stuff differs.

Also had a good time talking with Dad about things, making horrible puns (eg. "You can't beet a red borscht!"), and thinking about projects we'd like to undertake. If we get permission from the grandparents, we might go up to the old family farm in a summer or two, plant a bunch of low maintenance crops and fruit trees, and let them just go to seed for a while... the land's being wasted, only growing lichen right now. We also talked about retrofitting the old chicken coop as an aquaponic garden, with a small duckweed/freshwater shrimp/tilapia-based fish farm inside, and using nitrogen-fixing bacterial filters and fish waste water to fertilize a hydroponic greenhouse nextdoor. Just musing right now... but I'd love to do something with the land up there.

While you're at it, put in some Kahlua as well. 3 gallons of the stuff would probably reach critical mass and start radiating polar bears.

Squashes and pumpkins are closely related. Don't be too surprised if there's not much of a taste difference.

I can't say if there will or won't be; I've not eaten pumpkin before. Butternut squash is nice, though.

It's not really that they are closely related, it's that pumpkins are a type of squash.
