Just came back from my friend's going away party~  I got to eat Malinese food and speak in French and German, and got all kinds of compliments on my looks and my clothes and how "Oh you're American?  But you dress too well to be American!  And you speak so many languages so well!"  As usual they thought I had to be Swiss, haha--standing there, they even started speaking to me in French without any preamble, and it was a very mixed-nationality party.  And I was able to speak with many people about math, too.

Also, they could tell from my German accent exactly where my step-Grandmother came from.  That's pretty amazing.  Even though I didn't learn it from her, I still Heritage Speaker'd my way into a Stuttgart accent.

Got some really good French lemon cake and pineapple cake, also~

I'm halfway moved-in to my new place, and it's beautiful.  Very quiet, second floor, great view of the bay, excellent floormate, cleanest part of the house, a small room with lots of closet just the way I like it.  10 minutes away from work via bus and just ugh it's perfect okay

My happy right now is that I'm more or less done with homework, turned out most of it was pretty easy to get a handle on, though there's definitely some things I need to go over, I feel a lot less freaked out than I did this morning.
