Had a really awesome morning. Went indoor rock climbing for the first time with a friend who has a lot of experience and someone I'd not met before. Spent a few hours doing both set routes and bouldering. Hardest climb finished was graded a 5b. Neither of us could get past a particular part on a 5c, but I'm determined to get around it next time. Plan to go again next weekend. Finally got out of the house and did something besides work .

Figured out how to retool a really old idea I'd despaired on ever doing anything with into something useful--but it was one of my favorites, and I tried to make it work for about five years straight.  I have so many complete sets of characters and story ideas lying around that I'd completely forgotten about, and I previously gave up on them because they weren't right for a creative writing sort of scenario.

And now I've found a perfect environment for it.  I'm really, really excited.

Just watched Cabin in the Woods.

Holy flying fuck that was amazing, it's like, holy crap, I don't remember when I saw a movie so boldly creative with an idea so far out there.

So, if you can handle some gore I definitely reccomend it, like, go see that shit somehow.

I'll just toss my hat in the ring: If you haven't yet seen Cabin in the Woods, you are obliged to do so at the earliest possible opportunity. It's second Whedon production I saw, and the one that convinced me to watch everything he ever has and ever will make. That ending. That marvelous, mind-fucking ending.

Well it's not that much really, aside from like two scenes, I think, anyways, it's great at subverting your expectations of gore quite a few times, you expect it to be horrible, but then it doesn't happen

I've practically memorized them. My happiness is quite a bit due to the fact that it's taking the path to 1.0 in a much clearer way now.
